Take Heed

My heart breaks at the thought of ALL that Jesus did for us and the so many who just take it for granted. Never choosing to come to the FULL knowledge of the truth because they refuse to open their Bibles, they close off their ears when the truth is spoken, they deny the very LIFE that is in Christ Jesus by serving a world swallowed up in DEATH. When they do see or hear, they dismiss it (truth) as inconsequential to their lives, refusing to listen to the Spirit that speaks to their hearts.

So many would rather just name the name of Christ—as if for personal benefit—yet not depart from iniquity. This saddens me, it angers me. Is God a liar? Does He not hate sin? Does He not despise evil? Will He not pour out His wrath upon all who are against Him in the end? Jesus says, “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad” (Matt 12:30). Why do we toy with the Almighty? Why do we play games with our salvation, with our eternity?

We must depart from evil and seek to not fall—purpose in ourselves, in our minds, that we will stand, that we will endure! Then when the moments of testing come, we can call upon the Lord to raise us up above the darkness and calamity, so we will not fall to the wayside or veer from the narrow path. “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall” (1 Cor 10:12).

The Lord Jesus is our Redeemer and our Savior, but He is also THE WORD OF GOD. There is no separation. If we love Him, we love the Word. If we accept Him, we accept the Word. “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me” (Matt 15:8). We cannot be like the hypocrites who loved the words that came from their own mouths more than they loved God Himself. We MUST draw near to Him and He will draw near to us. Time is short. The Lord calls upon us to watch and pray, to return to our first love, and to look up for our redemption draweth nigh!
